The Rosary

The Rosary

The rosary has a long tradition in Marian worship. But it is also used in the form of a prayer cord for the Jesus prayer in the Orthodox Church. We would like to introduce you to a few rosary prayers that are used in the Ancient Celtic Church.

Prayers for the Anglican Rosary (in the shape of a cross)

Blessing of the Elements Rosary for the Anglican Rosary

written by Rev. Alexandra Gapski, Ancient Celtic Church

The cross:

In the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Invitatory:

God's love shines in me like a fire
so that I may carry it on and kindle other hearts and souls with it.

Glory to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit:
As in the beginning, so also now, always and forever. Amen.

Cross Shaping Beads:

May the Holy Three be protection and guidance to me.
She teaches me to respect and protect creation and to be a light to others.

Week pearls:

(Each sentence is prayed on a different bead)
The blessings of the moon fill me with wisdom.

The blessings of the sun fill me with warmth and light.

The blessing of the wind give my soul wings.

The blessings of the rain wash me free from negativity.

The blessing of the forest give me healing.

The blessing of the earth give me roots.

May the blessings of heaven give my thoughts space.

The sun song for the decade rosary

St. Francis of Assisi, adapted for the Decade Rosary by Rev. Alexandra Gapski

The cross:

In the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Invitatory:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace that I love wherever you hate,
that I forgive where one insults,
that I connect where there is quarrel; that I tell the truth where there is error, that I bring faith wherever doubt threatens,

that I awaken hope where despair torments, that I kindle light, where darkness reigns, that I bring joy where sorrow resides.

The ten pearls:

  1. Most high, almighty, good Lord, yours is praise, glory and honor and every blessing. You alone, Most High, they are due, and no one is worthy to call you.
  2. Praise you, my Lord, with all your creatures, especially the Lord Brother Sun, who gives us the day and through which you shine for us. And it is beautiful and shining in great splendor: of you, Most High, a symbol.
  3. Praise be to you, sir, for sister moon and the stars. In the sky you formed it, clear and precious and beautiful.
  4. Praise be to you, my Lord, for brother wind, for air and clouds and bright and all kinds of weather, through which you keep your creatures alive.
  5. Praise be to you, sir, for sister water. She is very useful and humble and precious and chaste.
  6. Praise be to you, my lord, for brother fire, by which you light up the night. And he is beautiful and happy and powerful and strong.
  7. You are to be praised, sir, for our sister mother earth, who sustains and guides us and produces a variety of fruits, with colorful flowers and herbs.
  8. Praise be to you, my Lord, for those who forgive for the sake of your love and who endure sickness and adversity. Blessed are those who endure in peace, for you, Most High, will one day crown them.
  9. Praise be to you, sir, for our sister, bodily death; no living person can escape it. Woe to those who die in deadly sin. Blessed are those he will find in your most holy will, for the second death will do them no harm.
  10. I praise and praise my Lord and thank and serve him with great humility.
